My career has seemingly always involved real estate. During the 1970s and early 1980s I dealt with architects, home builders and developers as a sales manager for a major appliance supplier.

Then in 1982 I began a three-decade career in the investment industry and I founded my own consulting firm in 1984. We served large and small retirement plan clients across the nation, including several Fortune 500 companies. We serviced nearly $5 Billion of retirement plan assets when I sold it in 2014. I then retired.

My pension planning credentials were: Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries in 1989,  Accredited Pension Administrator (APA) through the National Institute of Pension Administrators in 1990.  My securities credentials were: NASD Series 6&7 Securities licenses beginning in 1982, Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) in 1992, Series24 General Securities Principal in 1994.  I supervised advisors and brokers in many parts of the country.

Real estate was virtually always an investment option or alternative to be discussed in these capacities. During that 30 year career I also personally bought, sold and/or developed roughly 2 dozen properties of various types.

Ironically, I am not “retiree material”, so I am now pursuing my life-long interest in real estate. Because of my experience and training, I am well-qualified to resume doing what I do best – that is to help people navigate through certain exceedingly complex aspects of their financial life.  Buying, selling and owning real estate is a big part of that financial life. I hope that you will give me the opportunity to assist YOU, as I have assisted others in the past…..

Ann, my wife of 45 years, was born and raised in Columbia as were my two sons Brian and Adam.  While still living and working in Columbia, Ann and I purchased a vacation home in a golf community here in Beaufort in 2012 as a “trial run”.  After selling the last of my business, we moved to our “permanent vacation home” on Lady’s Island in 2016.

One son is a P&C insurance agent, while the other is the world’s only “securities broker-turned-fireman/engineer” (He had the good sense to follow his heart after the securities business was sold – it took me a little longer)!

I am an avid sailor, boater, fisherman and mediocre golfer. I recently took up painting and have several pieces hanging in a local gallery. I am also in the process of writing a long-delayed novel.
